I’ve never really thought about the day when I’d be struggling financially. I always thought that only problems that money couldn’t solve were the most challenging, like spiritual emptiness. But now, when I’m struggling to afford just one meal a day, I realise that my previous thoughts were wrong. Now that I’m short of cash, unwell and still spiritually empty, I realise that you can’t have your cake and eat it.
